StorageLabels
Privacy Policy
Last updated 15 September 2026
StorageLabels keeps your inventory on your phone. There is no account to create, and no server of ours holds a list of what you own. This policy explains the few places data does move, and why.
What stays on your device
Your boxes, locations, item text and photos are stored in the app's own storage on your phone. They are not uploaded, not synced, and not visible to us. We do not operate a server that holds your inventory, and that is an architectural decision rather than a policy one — there is nothing to switch on later.
What we never collect
No account, name, email address or password — the app never asks for one. No advertising identifiers. No analytics or usage tracking SDK. No location data. No contacts, calendar or health data.
Backups
Export creates a file and hands it to your phone's own share sheet. You choose where it goes — iCloud Drive, Files, AirDrop, another app. It never passes through us, and we cannot read it. That file is the only way your inventory moves to a new or reset device; restoring a purchase re-applies your plan but never your data. Anyone you send that file to can read everything in it, so treat it like any other document containing your belongings.
AI Snap
AI Snap is optional and only runs when you tap it. When you do, one photo is downscaled and re-encoded on your phone before it leaves — which removes the embedded metadata, including any location the camera recorded — and sent over an encrypted connection to our processing service, which passes it to our AI vendor to read the contents. The item list comes back and is saved on your phone.
The photo is processed in transit and is not stored: not by us, and not retained by the vendor for training. Alongside the photo we send an opaque identifier that is generated on your device. It exists solely to count scans against your plan's allowance. It is not linked to your name, your Apple ID, or anything else about you.
Purchases
Subscriptions and one-time purchases are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your card, billing address, or Apple ID. To know which features to unlock, we receive a purchase status — active or not — associated with the same anonymous device identifier described above, through our billing provider RevenueCat.
Children
StorageLabels is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Since the app collects no personal information from anyone, there is nothing for us to delete.
Your rights
Laws such as the GDPR and CCPA give you rights to access, correct, export and delete personal data a company holds about you. We hold none, so there is nothing for us to hand over or erase. Your data is on your phone: the app can export all of it at any time, and deleting the app removes it.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update this page and the date above. Material changes will also be noted in the app.
